Two new projects that had started in 2024, have produced first scientific outputs. SeMSiNN (“Secure Mixed-Signal Neural Networks”, in collaboration with University of Ulm and funded by the DFG within the Priority Program Nano Security), published two papers in IEEE AICAS and IEEE COINS on simulating and mitigating side-channel attacks against mixed-signal artificial-intelligence circuits. MagneTest (“Enhancing Test Methods by Magnetic Fields”, in collaboration with the Smart Sensors Group in Stuttgart and TU Munich and funded by Advantest within GS-IMTR) produced a publication on detection of marginal manufacturing defects through unsupervised learning in IEEE Asian Test Symposium. A new project has been approved: “Quantum Computing Engineering for Multi-QPU Architectures” in collaboration with IBM and funded through the IQST Graduate School @QuantumBW. We expect this project to start in early 2025. Professor Polian remains the coordinator of the DFG Priority Program Nano Security and a Directorate Member of GS-IMTR and IQST (Center for Integrated Quantum Science and Technology).
