Keynote at 25th International Symposium on VLSI Design and Test (VDAT'21)

September 18, 2021

Prof. Polian of ITI has held the keynote presentation at 25th International Symposium on VLSI Design and Test (VDAT'21)

Prof. Polian of ITI has held the keynote presentation on the topic of "Security Implications of Emerging Architectural Paradigms on Machine-Learning Hardware" at the VDAT 2021 symposium. The symposium, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, has been held on September 16-18 2021 under the overall theme "Intelligent Systems for Humanity"; its website is https://vlsidat.org/ The group of Prof. Polian is working on understanding security vulnerabilities that arise when machine-learning algorithms are implemented in hardware and techniques to protect hardware implementations against malicious attacks. The talk focused on the question how the adoption of new computer architectures, including approximate and stochastic approaches, shift the security balance.
