In our next lecture "Computer Architecture and Organization" (CAO), on November 20, 9:45, room V7.03, we'll look into the future of computing architectures. We'll have a guest lecture by Dr. Sebastian Brandhofer, who graduated from our Faculty and is now a research associate at IBM Quantum. He will speak about quantum computing, its implication for classical computer architectures, and technological advances which are here now and which we can expect soon.
The lecture will focus on compilation of quantum computations and also give a overview of career opportunities in the field of quantum computing. In addition, there will be an opportunity for an excursion to IBM Quantum in Ehningen on November 21 for participants of the guest lecture. Note that the number of available places in the excursion is limited. The guest lecture is not restricted to enrolled CAO students.
